The more children read, the more proficient they become. Evidence abounds that when we encourage reading among our youngest students, it ensures that children obtain the solid
foundation necessary for present and future success.  When students are challenged to jump through the next hoop – and then rewarded for accomplishing those goals – they gain
confidence.  Limos For Learning™ strives to:

•  Support public schools and teachers in their efforts toward
moving students beyond below Basic and Basic Levels of
proficiency in English/Language arts by promoting reading
through incentives. The more children read at an early
age, the more they comprehend, learn and increase
Their ability to communicate effectively.  These are
key elements that not only raise test scores, but
also become invaluable tools in life.

•  Target and reward young readers whose efforts are
often overlooked when standardized test scores are
used as the sole determining factor for rewards.
When children perceive that their test scores
impair their eligibility for participation,  they
are oftentimes less motivated.  By eliminating
standardized test scores as criteria, more
children are motivated and eligible for
rewards based on their effort.

•  Reinforce that success is obtainable at any
level through hard work.  Positive reinforcement
promotes self-confidence – Success breeds success.

•  Adequately fund and expand the Limos For Learning™ program
throughout South Carolina and beyond to reach deserving children presently
testing at BELOW BASIC or BASIC performance levels through a network of community partnerships.
